If the editor is not highly proficient in their chosen software suite, then your bill can very quickly exceed what we would have charged you to do the job. At RetroMedia.com.au we use Final Cut Pro on the Apple Mac platform exclusively. This is arguably the world’s best editing software, used on many TV shows and Hollywood movies.
So you can relax knowing that your editor is highly skilled in world class software.. Meaning you’ll pay less for professional video editing.
Things that professional editing can achieve for you..
• remove scenes, tighten scenes - remove people, places, shorten boring sequences
• we can shoot new footage and cut it into your old video - Why not update an old outdated promo or sales video rather than throw it away?
• re-order scenes - get things into chronological order, or re-arrange scenes thematically, such as making a separate movie of all your son’s footy games, or all your daughter’s birthday parties, etc..
• remove sound, replace sound, add sound effects or music
• reduce background noise - we can lessen wind noise, motor noise & more.. Most continuous noise can be reduced, and individual noises removed altogther if they are not occuring simultaneously with audio you’d want preserved, such as speech.
• enhance colour or very dark footage - colour cast can be corrected or improved, and very dark footage can sometimes be salvaged, or removed..
• add a Title for the movie or each location, add subtitles to aid identification of people or places, add end credits & thank you’s, etc
• add in Powerpoint Slides
• produce and add in a Slideshow from supplied photos or slides - from quite simple to extremely elaborate...
• produce a Highlights Slideshow from Freeze Frames taken from your video - a nice way to end a video of a special event is to recap with one of these slideshows, perhaps running some End Credits over the slideshow.
• produce a Montage Segment - take footage from the video and set it to music just like a music video - works beautifully as an add-on to a wedding video transfer as a ‘Highlights Video’ to recap the day. Rates:
Hourly... We have two rates that apply.. Off Peak, and Peak Hours
Off Peak Hours: Hours scheduled in as they fit around any pre-booked Peak Hours (explained below).. Suitable for most home video editing, these hours may occur at odd times, or in interrupted blocks of time, but hours are accurately recorded to ensure you only pay for the time we spend on your project.
$60/hr Hours are rounded to the nearest 15 minute mark, and charged accordingly.
Peak Hours: Exclusive bookings of blocks of time - suitable for ‘Sit-In’ editing sessions, On-site editing, Business video editing.. anything that demands a strict turnaround time, or exclusive allocation of a block of time.
$90/hr Hours are rounded to the nearest 15 minute mark, and charged accordingly.
